The Nebraska National Guard bestowed a special honor to Oliver Egr, a student at Yutan High School today.  The student body and teachers participated in the ceremony. Oliver was recognized for his courage and determination to press on while faced with Battons Disease, a progressive disease that has already taken his sight.  Friends and educators affirmed his determination to keep doing his best and not give up.  From early childhood he has dreamed of serving in the military.  Today he was named honorary sergeant major in the Nebraska National Guard.  Our local VFW and American Legion awarded him lifetime honorary membership in their organizations.
