Reaching out into our communities is vital to our organization,
developing relationships with community leaders, media, school faculty
and local civic groups can greatly assist each post in achieving the VFW
mission.
Every spring, just before Day, we mount American flags on the lightposts on the main street, keeping there until the end of the summer. We provide all of the flags.
We join with the American Legion to hold a Memorial Day ceremony and a Veteran's Day ceremony every year. We also provide Color Guard ceremonies at school sports events. We provide Honor guards for the funerals of our veterans.
We make donations for worthy causes in our community, such as
the renovation of the local baseball field, Senior Class Post Prom
parties, and other places in our community where there is a need.
We are also available to assist local veterans in need and connect
them with organizations and government agencies that can help them.
