LB 153: Welcoming Military Retirees to Nebraska

Legislative Bill 153 exempts 50% of military retirement pay from being taxed in Nebraska. Not only would this help make Nebraska more affordable for military retirees and help us compete with our surrounding states (all of which offer tax breaks on military retirement pay), but it's a way to say, "Welcome home to Nebraska."

Read Governor Ricketts' most recent column "Bringing Veterans to Nebraska."

LB 153 was introduced and voted out of committee in 2019. It is expected to be debated early in the 2020 session, possibly as soon as January 13th, so time is short to show your support.
