November 7, 2025 First Graders Honor Veterans

Ed Perley - 11/7/2025

The first grade at Yutan Elementary School entertained local veterans in their classroom.  They sang, and worked on puzzles and games with the veterans.  The teachers presiding over the activities were Ms. Loos and Mrs. Timms.  The children interviewed the veterans and asked a number of questions about their service overseas.  The veterans gave short talks about what their jobs were while they served. A lot of artwork honoring the service of the veterans was displayed in the classrooms and the hallway.

Hank Sauer presented the class with an American flag.  They were asked to keep it as they advance through the grades to the 12th grade and then pass it to the new first grade to do the same.

Refreshments were served to the veterans.
