VFW Post 9844 has resumed its monthly meetings on Monday evening, June 15.
We discussed the possibility of finding new programs and activities to involve our community, in a way that will not endanger the health of participants.
We were informed that the State Convention has been scheduled for next Saturday, June 20, at Seward, starting at 9:30 AM. You can get transportation with Hank Sauer at the the Country Club at 8:00 AM. His cell phone # is (402) 290-8454.
We had some very good news at our meeting. For the first time, a high school student in Nebraska has won the national Voice of Democracy Award. She is Shruthi Kumer, a Senior student of Marian High School in Omaha. Her essay and talk were "What Makes America Great?" She was judged to be the best of over 51,000 entrants. She was sponsored by VFW Post 1581 in Omaha.
Congratulations!!
