Our Headquarters

The Yutan Veterans Country Club is the headquarters of the VFW, American Legion, and the Legion Auxiliary.

Our Tank

This M60A3 tank sits in front of the Yutan Country Club. M60A3 tanks were in service in the U.S. Army from 1978 to 1997. Upgraded versions of the tank are still in use by a number of countries.

Country Club Mural

This is a portion of the mural that covers one wall at the Country Club It is a record of the history of the Yutan area and past wars.

Honor Guard

We partner with the Yutan American Legion to provide honor guards at the funerals of our veterans.

Memorial Day Service

The Yutan VFW and American Legion provide a Memorial Day service at the Yutan cemetery.

Color Guard and Parades

The Yutan VFW and American Legion march each summer in the Yutan Days Parade. We also provide a color guards for Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and at High School sports events.

Buddy Poppies

The poppy has a very special meaning. In World War I, the battlefield was at times covered with beautiful red poppies. Buying a poppy is a way to honor the sacrifices our military made in past wars.

Veteran Outreach

Coming home doesn't mean the battle is over. With over 10 times the amount of veterans lost to suicide than to combat operations in the same time period, there has never been a more important time to TAKE A STAND and DO something to support our veterans!! If you or someone you know is suffering from PTSD, we have people that have shared a similar experience and are ready to help.

Our meetings are regularly scheduled for the third Monday of each month at 7:00 PM.  Please plan to attend. We need more people to continue our service to support veterans and our community.
 
The American Legion Fish Fry will not be provided this year.
 
The Yutan VFW and Legion are planning to serve hamburger and fish filet sandwiches one or two times per month.  More information will be posted later.
 
 We at the VFW have served our community in  a good many ways.  We have our steak dinners in the summer, we hold observances of Memorial Day and Memorial Day,  honor guards for funerals, scholarships and awards for young people, and assistance for veterans in need.  But time and old age have been thinning our ranks. We need more young people to continue our service.  We need enough members at our meetings to meet the requirements for making decisions to assist people and to pay bills.  We welcome anyone with ideas about how we can better benefit our community.  Please attend our meetings (The 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Country Club)  to get connected with us.

 As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.
 
Not everyone has served in hostile territory.  But every member of the VFW has Just like you, we've been there.  As a member of the largest combat veterans organization, you can count on the same camaraderie and brotherhood you shared in the military.  Continue the tradition.  Join the VFW.

The Yutan VFW chapter needs to replace the signs we have posted on the Yutan Country Club building.  We are going to hold a raffle to pay for them.  The prizes are listed below.
 
First prize:  $500.00 of meat from the Ravanna Locker.
Second prize:  A handmade quilt.
Third prize:  garden gnome, others.
 
 The drawing will be at the State Convention June 8, 2026.
 
 Legion Baseball games will not be held this year because the teams do not have enough players.  We hope we can bring them back next year.
